Apricot Cake

1 cup sugar
1 cup oil
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water
1 pint apricots with juice, blended
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts
Blend eggs, oil and sugar.  Add dissolved soda and fruit.  Add flour and spices.  Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.
